Therapy for burnout, work stress
and career changes
in Copenhagen

Burnout is physical and emotional exhaustion related to work that is hard to recover from just by resting. In therapy we work on what sustains it, how to set boundaries and how to regain energy and clarity at your pace. I work in Spanish and English, online or in person in Copenhagen.

Signs that you have been holding everything up for too long

What is burnout?

According to the World Health Organization, burnout is an occupational phenomenon, not a medical condition. It describes it with three signs: a feeling of exhaustion, mental distance or a negative attitude towards work, and reduced professional efficacy. It appears when work stress continues over time without our managing to cope with it.

  • Tiredness that doesn't go away even when you rest.

  • Lack of motivation about a job that used to matter to you.

  • Feeling that you are not good enough, whatever you do.

  • Difficulty switching off outside working hours.

  • Irritability or less patience than usual.

How I work with burnout in therapy

Work stress and career changes

We explore what is sustaining that wear and tear: the demands, the thought patterns, the difficulty setting boundaries or asking for what you need. We work so you can express your needs in a healthy way and clarify what you want and what you value at this stage of your life. We do it at your pace and with concrete tools you can apply outside of sessions.

Not all work-related exhaustion is burnout. Sometimes the stress comes from a specific stage: a change of role or team, a job that no longer fits you, doubts about changing path, or the pressure of working in another language and another work culture. In therapy we explore what is happening to you, what you need and what options you have, at your pace and without deciding for you.
