Integrative Therapy in Copenhagen
Do you feel like anxiety, stress, or being far from the people you love have become part of your everyday life, without really knowing why?
If so, I want you to know that you’re not alone in this.

About me
My name is Sheila Hernández. I’m a psychologist and, like you, I know what it’s like to leave behind what feels familiar and build a new life somewhere else. I now live in Copenhagen, and my experience of adapting to a new environment, another language, and different ways of doing things has shaped both my personal life and the way I support people in therapy.
I work from an integrative approach, combining tools from cognitive behavioural therapy, which helps us identify and transform the thoughts that keep us stuck, with a humanistic approach that places your experience and your own pace at the centre of the process, as well as mindfulness practices to help you stay present even when everything feels overwhelming. There is no single approach to therapy that works for everyone, so I adapt the tools to what you need, not the other way around.
I support people going through many different experiences: anxiety and stress, relationship difficulties, periods of change, or the migration grief that can come with leaving a country behind. I also work with people who feel they have been holding everything together for too long and have reached a point of exhaustion.
I know firsthand what it can feel like when anxiety starts taking up too much space: when your mind won’t switch off, constantly anticipates what might happen, and it becomes difficult to disconnect even when everything seems fine. My personal and professional experience allows me to understand this kind of distress and, through therapy, help you understand what is happening and develop tools to gradually regain a sense of calm and feel like yourself again.
My goal is not only to listen to you, but also to offer you practical tools that you can take away from each session and apply to your everyday life, whether you’re in Copenhagen or somewhere else.
